Sox can never win the World Series? Pats couldn't win the Superbowl either. You never thought a kid from French Lick could revolutionize the forward position. You never thought a defenseman could lead the league in scoring. You never thought the Sox, with Jim Rice injured for the playoffs, could make it all the way to game 7 against the big Red Machine. THEN..... Adam Vinatieri Split the Uprights, Larry Bird became a three-time MVP, Bobby Orr defined the way defensemen play and Pudge Willed it fair. You never think it's possible, that's why you're not a Bostonian. So go watch your Knicks games, and drool over your millionaire Yankees, while reminiscing over the pathetic Jets' inconsistency, and call me in November.
I'm from MASSACHUSETTS. I know what tonic is and I like cranberries. I've experienced the Big Dig, banged a u-ey and knew what it meant, and have driven on I93 North and 128 South at the same time. I consider 40 degrees to be a nice day and 6 inches of snow is only a dusting. I know that 65mph really means 80 and don't cut me off cuz you'll get the horn and the finger...it's expected. I drink from a bubblah, eat clam chowdah, and use the word "wicked" for just about everything besides its actual meaning. I celebrate St. Patrick's Day with people who are actually Irish and don't go to school on Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur. I go to The Cape, cheer for the Red Sox at Fenway, and yell "Yankees Suck" every chance I get. I'm a MASSHOLE and I love this place.
